When gluing frags to your aquascape putty is used to fill in all the voids in the rock and frag. Because it is less inexpensive by volume than super glue gel you are saving money by using the "StevieT" sandwich method. The glue has a better first contact tack and the putty gives a rock hard hold after cured.
